Fahrenheit 4NOne Curling Iron set

I've seen SO many videos of this curler used on YouTube, and I've heard so many good things about it, so I figured, why not try it out? I actually got this as a gift, which I may have hinted at, but I believe it was $49.00 from Winners. If you live in Canada and have a Winners near by I would definitely recommend this as if your going to buy it online it's quite a bit more. I've found it here on Amazon for $72.99.

There are 4 different size barrels that come with this curling iron. Removing and attaching the barrels is a breeze and I never have any issues with that. I've used it multiple times and my favourite barrels seem to be the 2 middle ones. They make such awesome curls. I find the second smallest barrel gives you the Taylor Swift waves/curls, so if any of you are going for that, I recommend that size.  It heats up very quickly, the glove is very helpful and comfy- and trust me, you wanna wear the glove because I know from experience that it gets VERY hot and will give you a nasty burn if you accidentally touch it to your skin. It also gets up to temperature super fast! I can plug it in, turn it on (holding the power button for a second or two, sometimes it's slow) and I would say within 25 seconds its up to full heat. You'll know it's on for sure because the screen lights up.

Normally I stick with the default temperature of 360 degrees but you can choose any temperature you like (up to 450F). The swivel cord makes manoeuvring very easy so you don't have a tangled curly cord by the end of your routine. I find I can sleep in my curls and wake up the next day, and my hair is still just as curly as the day before!

One small issue I have with it is when you turn it off and don't unplug it, it makes this small beeping noise every few seconds (20 maybe?). It's beyond me why it would continue to beep after it's off but I just end up unplugging it and the problem is solved! So overall I would recommend this to anyone and everyone for a versatile curling iron.

If you wanna see some how-to videos/more reviews on the curling iron check out these videos that I've linked below :)

J-Lo Still- Favorite Scent

I am going to start out by saying this fragrance has been discontinued but you can still find it at lots of places. I am from Canada and I can't seem to find it in stores here but it is available online and I know for a fact that it is everywhere in the US as I just had a friend pick it up for me down there and she said it wasn't hard to find.

This scent was released in 2003 so it's not new to the perfume scene. I have probably been using this on and off for 4 or 5 years. Only on and off because I run out and then find another fragrance to use until I find it again. It's very warm, yet not overpowering. I smell white amber with hint of pepper. The combination of warm and fresh spicy notes are amazing. STILL is really different, it's not boring with the common base notes of many perfumes. It also lasts forever! I can smell it on me all day long- morning to night.

Package: The outside package looks simple and clean with the name and some details about the fragrance on the background of light grey colour, with no other designs to clutter it up. The bottle is champagne colour with angles and it has a 'diamond' ring on the bottle's neck , Its damn gorgeous!

Now I'm not great at describing scents so here is what it says about it on Fragrantica:

"Still is very feminine, vivacious, clean and sensual. The opening is luminous and gentle due to the notes of white pepper, mandarin, Earl Grey tea and sake note. The heart note is composed of freesia, rose, jasmine, orange blossom and lily-of-the-valley. The base is warm and sensual with woody and musky notes; sandalwood, musk, amber, orris and pepper. The perfume was created by Michel Girard in 2003."

So to sum it all up- no one go out and buy this perfume because I don't want it to be sold out since they no longer make it! Haha, just joking- I shared this with you because it is my all time favorite and if you try it, you'll know what I'm talking about. :)

I follow a variety of blogs, including those from my absolute favorite category, beauty! Whenever I come across a really excellent one, it totally makes my day.

For me, a great beauty blog is made up of awesome product reviews, beauty routines, and new beauty trends. I also appriciate when you get to see the real person behind the blog- makes it more personal. So here are a few beauty blogs that I follow on a day-to-day basis that meet my stringent criteria.

Juicy Tuesday (YouTube)

These are just a couple but there are SO MANY more awesome blogs out there.

Luxe Box by Loose Button

Ok SO, I just signed up for GLOSSYBOX earlier this week and was checking out some of the other Beauty Boxes that were available to me in Canada. Most of them had a wait list and so I joined the Luxe box waiting list since to join the list I didn't have to put in my credit card info-unlike one of the others. Well turns out the wait list wasn't that long because I got an email the next day and it said "Your Luxe Box invitation is here" and I only had 48 hours to sign up before the invitation expired.

I really should have waited until I got my GLOSSYBOX to make sure that I liked the idea of a beauty box but no, you would think that it was the last Luxe Box on earth because I signed up immediatly. I mean if I didn't, what if I let the inviation expire and then never got another inviation again, I would be very dissapointed. So really I just saved myself all that hassle because I probably will like the GLOSSYBOX and want more. Atleast that's how i'm rationalizing it to myself. And hey, I can cancel at any time after I recieve the first one so i'm not out that much.

As I mentioned in my GLOSSYBOX post, I will wait until my Luxe Box arrives until I do the full review but if you want some more info on Luxe Boxes, keep reading.

Luxe Box is an exciting membership service that delivers 4-5 deluxe beauty samples to you in a chic box every month. The samples range from skincare and makeup to fragrance, body, and haircare. This way, you get to try a variety of products and brands in the comfort of your home and discover the ones that are perfect for you.  The service is only available in Canada and is $12 a month including shipping.

Luxe box also offers a First in Line Program. It is an exciting program that lets you reserve one product in your upcoming Luxe Box based on a selection of available products. If you successfully reserve the product, you will receive it in your next Luxe Box. It's not available every month but when they are running this program, you will get an email link and the option to reserve your product (if your quick enough!). This is something different from the other boxes I've seen.

So there's the low-down on Luxe Box- if you think you wanna try it with me, click here.  Super excited to receive my box and share it with you guys!

GLOSSYBOX comes to Canada

I know what you're thinking... Another subscription service?!

I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to subscribe as it is a bit more expensive compared than the other beauty box subsciption services available in Canada but I decided to give it a whirl since I can cancel anytime according to their website. (Other box sevices include, TopBox, Gylmm and LuxeBox- some of which are currently sold out and you must join the waiting list if you want to wait until they become available)

I am waiting for my first GlossyBox to arrive before giving a full review but ntil then, here's a few things you should know about the company:

Having originated in Germany and becoming a huge success in the UK and many other countries, GLOSSYBOX is now making its Canadian Debut. Every month members will enjoy a sophisticated 5-item luxury package wrapped in the company’s signature powder-pink box packed with a selection of beauty miniatures from boutique, medical and high-end collections, as well as those tried-tested-and-true favourite beauty brands. To keep the experience truly exciting, a wildcard surprise item could show up in the box at any time. The GLOSSYBOX goal is to share insider know-how and save consumers from tough and costly decisions by sending the best cosmetic and beauty products right to the members’ door for only $15 a month. GLOSSYBOX invites members online to create a personal beauty profile. This ensures that the items in the box will be tailored to the individual’s needs or an introduction to new trends, and quality cosmetic and beauty products.

Only time will tell whether it's worth it, but I am still excited to try it. Don't worry, as soon as it arrives you'll be the first to know!

Vichy Normaderm Teint

Today I wanted to share my favorite drug-store foundation with you all! I have 'less than perfect' skin, get blemishes, and tend to have a fairly dry face overall. If you know anything about this foundation you will know it is somewhat directed towards acne prone-oily complexions but if my face is thoroughly moisturized before I put on the foundation it does not dry my face out. I loveee it. I would say it has medium coverage and is very buildable. I believe this foundation replaced an earlier version that they have now phased out but I didn't start using it until after so i'm not quite sure how it would compare to that. I am the Tres clair Opal 15 colour and I actually find because it's not too heavy I can wear it in the winter as well as spring & fall.

It is in the higher price range for drug store foundations at (around) $27 but in my mind it's worth it! You find something you love and you stick with it! :)
